He sat very still for me. Only one interuption for a slow yawn.
Today was well spent sketching at the Johannesburg Zoo with fellow Joburg Sketchers. The challenge was to try not spend too much time walking around, but more time actually drawing. To find animals that didn’t move every second. I was actually very impressed with how well kept the zoo was. SO much one can draw there. Too little time!

These beautiful Lemurs just could not keep still one moment. Very frustrating.
Gemsbok – First drawing for the day after trekking for half an hour or so. Had not loosened up yet.
Looked very much like a vulture. Had a bizarre looking head which I did not every try to capture the detail on.
I just love trees – they keep still for artists to draw them. Thank you God.
I successfully managed to sneak this drawing of this girl having her lunch. Dark glasses helps I think.
These Bongos are so beautiful. Apparently they are endangered which is sad.
